About — A studio, not a SaaS

For shops where
the owner still cuts.

Koda is a small studio building software for independent grooming shops. We make the kind of tools we'd want if we ran the shop ourselves.

Manifesto

We believe the best grooming shops are small, careful, and a little stubborn. Their software should be the same. No upsells. No fake urgency. No "AI-powered growth dashboard." Just the calendar, the dog, the owner, and the money — handled with care.

Four principles — How we build

The rules of the studio.

01

Built warm, built quiet.

Software shouldn't shout. Koda's interface borrows from letterpress and well-edited magazines — restrained, generous with whitespace, easy on a long Saturday.

02

One dog, one record.

Coat, allergies, vaccines, photos, vet notes — one warm folder per dog. The bath room and the front desk see the same thing. So does the owner.

03

Honest pricing forever.

$59/mo per location, $2 flat per online booking. No per-seat fees. No surprise invoices. Cancel any time and we'll export everything.

04

Real humans answer.

Texts and in-app messages get answered by a person, fast. Average reply time under fifteen minutes during shop hours.

A shop, transformed

The same Tuesday. Two different days.

A page from two shop diaries — one running on voicemails and paper, one running on Koda. Same hours. Same dogs. Different temperature.

  1. 7:55Lost

Two voicemails. One says 'call me back, urgent.'

  2. 9:10Risk

Walk-in. No vaccine record. We risk it.

  3. 10:30Lost

Paper intake spilled. Rewrite Pepper's notes from memory.

  4. 1:15Missed

Receipt is a Square link. Tip prompt buried.

  5. 4:40Friction

Argue who gets which tip. Vibe drops.

  6. 7:22Drained

    Stay late writing tomorrow's schedule.
